AI-supported inspection process management presented in China
At the beginning of September 2025, the World Smart Industry Expo in Chongqing opened its doors to around 600 exhibitors from all over the world. The focus of the trade fair was on pioneering technologies relating to artificial intelligence and autonomous driving. ComPro GmbH was right in the thick of things, presenting its intelligent solutions for inspection process management, which can make a decisive contribution to the safe and reliable production of autonomous vehicles.
Innovative inspection process management with AI: ComPro at the World Smart Industry Expo in Chongqing
More than 550 companies presented their innovations at the World Smart Industry Expo, which took place from 5 to 8 September 2025 in Chongqing, China. The focus was on artificial intelligence and how it is changing life in a wide variety of areas. The entire exhibition centred on autonomous driving using intelligent, connected vehicles with new energy technology (New Energy Vehicles – NEV).
ComPro GmbH was also part of this year’s World Smart Industry Expo. At our company stand, we informed visitors about inspection process management with Com.IPM, how AI comes into play and provides intelligent solutions for individual tasks. This applies in particular to the selection of suitable inspection equipment and the transferability of studies that have already been carried out.
Strategies and innovations for connected mobility: Conference on intelligent driving technologies
On the second day of the expo, the accompanying conference on development trends and the application of intelligent driving technologies took place at the Yuelai Conference Centre. It is considered the most important event within the framework of the World Smart Industry Expo. The central theme here was also autonomous driving. The discussion focused on the integration of cutting-edge technologies and their application, technological innovations and business models for an intelligent, connected automotive industry.
The conference was chaired by Zhou Weidong, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Other high-ranking participants included Zheng Xiangdong, Deputy Mayor of Chongqing, Luo Junjie, Executive Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF), and Yao Zhenzhi, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology. The more than 100 invited guests also included representatives from automotive and technology companies such as Tesla, Xiaomi Automobile and Huawei.
ComPro General Manager Stephan Sprink had the great honour of participating in this conference. He spoke about the necessary qualification of inspection processes, which is proof of capability and reliability. At the same time, he explained to those present the intelligent selection of suitable inspection equipment using AI. Both are of central importance for the future of autonomous driving. In autonomous driving, it is essential to be able to trust the technology, and this trust is strengthened when the correctness of the results has already been proven in the manufacture of the necessary components.
All participants benefited from the comprehensive exchange of information on development trends relating to intelligently connected cars, the expansion of application scenarios for autonomous driving, and the use of artificial intelligence in this field.
