Professional statistics training courses for your team
In industrial production, several ISO standards form the basis for the capability analysis of measurement and inspection processes as well as machines, production facilities and assembly processes:
- ISO 22514 ff: Statistical Methods in Process Management – Capability and Performance
- ISO 7870 ff: Control Charts
- ISO 11462 ff: Guidelines for Implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
These standards are now part of guidelines from associations such as VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) and AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group). These include:
- VDA 5 Volume Measurement and Inspection Processes
- SPC manual from VDA and AIAG
The latter will be published as a joint document by VDA and AIAG soon and will be used as referenced document for certification in accordance with IATF 16946 (International Automotive Task Force) in future.
Based on these developments, we offer you a comprehensive training program that teaches you everything you need to know about statistical methods in production. Each ComPro statistics training course is aimed at employees working in quality assurance and includes common statistical tools. You can attend statistics seminars online or on site in Weinheim, but we also offer statistics training tailored to the requirements of your company with an individual focus. You can find an overview of our courses below:
Introduction to statistics
In this two-day statistics training, you will learn statistics in a practical and understandable way. You will learn which methods are used when, how to implement them with software and how to interpret the results correctly. Using real examples, you will acquire basic statistical knowledge – ideal for preparing you for more advanced statistics such as proof of capability, machine and process capability or quality control charts in accordance with VDA, AIAG and ISO.
Proof of capability for machines and processes in accordance with the SPC manual (VDA/AIAG) and ISO 22514-2
This two-day statistics seminar will teach you how to reliably establish machine performance, process performance and process capability in accordance with the SPC manual (VDA/AIAG) and ISO 22514-2. You will learn the steps a proof of capability takes, which statistics are relevant (e.g. Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) and how to interpret results correctly. Using software and practical examples, we will provide you with the necessary know-how for stable, standard-compliant manufacturing processes.
Gage acceptance according to MSA manual (AIAG)
In this one-day training course, you will learn how to prove the capability of inspection equipment in accordance with the MSA manual (AIAG) and company-specific guidelines. You will analyze measuring systems using relevant statistics (e.g. cg, cgk, %R&R), identify influence quantities and prove the capability of measurement processes for specific applications. With practical examples and the use of software, you will acquire the necessary know-how for capability analyses in your production.
Proving measurement and inspection process capability according to VDA 5 & ISO 22514-7
This two-day statistics seminar will teach you how to evaluate measurement and inspection processes in accordance with VDA 5 and ISO 22514-7 and establish process capability. You will understand the concept of measurement uncertainties, calculate relevant sttaistics and optimize inspection processes using practical examples and software. You will also gain an insight into effective inspection process management for standard-compliant production processes.
Quality control charts according to the SPC manual (VDA/AIAG) and ISO 7870-2
In our one-day, practical statistics training, you will learn how to use quality control charts professionally in accordance with the SPC manual (VDA/AIAG) and ISO 7870-2. Understand when which control chart makes sense, how to plan samples and keep processes stable – for sustainable quality assurance in series production.

Why you should choose statistics courses or consulting services
What are the tasks of industrial statistics?
Industrial statistics focuses on the application of statistical procedures for quality assurance, process optimization and decision-making in industrial production. The main tasks are
- Quality control: Statistical process control (SPC), inspection planning and error analysis
- Design of Experiments (DoE)
- Process optimization
- Reliability analysis
- Measurement system analysis (MSA)
- Data analysis and reporting
Where is industrial statistics applied?
Industrial statistics are used in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the manufacture of electronics and semiconductors, food production and in medical technology.
In industrial production, as an example, quality managers use them to monitor production processes. Process engineers use statistical procedures to optimize production processes. Technicians in measurement technology use them to evaluate measuring systems and analyze measurement data. Six Sigma specialists use statistical methods to improve processes and development engineers use them to evaluate experiments.
What statistics seminars does ComPro offer?
As industrial statistics is based on complex concepts, a comprehensive introduction to statistics is essential. Once you know the statistical basics, you can choose a statistics training for quality management that is relevant to your field of work, e.g.
- Machine and process capability: How do you conduct capability analyses for machines and processes in accordance with the SPC manual and ISO 22514-2?
- Inspection equipment capability: How do you prove the capability of inspection equipment in accordance with the MSA manual and various company guidelines?
- Process capability: How do you prove the capability of measurement and inspection processes in accordance with VDA 5 and ISO 22514-7?
- Quality control charts: How do you apply control charts in accordance with the SPC manual and ISO 7870-2?
Would you like to take internal company/production features into account? Or would you like a customized concept in combination with software? Please contact us. For complex requirements, we support you with individual consulting services.
