Automated measurement data collection with iNDEQS
Benefits of automated measurement data collection in i-Collector
iNDEQS includes software for collecting measurement data from measuring instruments, test equipment and test systems for SPC and quality processes in production. But how does the automated recording of measurement data work?
Automatic measurement data collection means that measured values are transferred directly from measuring instruments, stored and then analysed by the software. The benefits include fewer operator errors due to the elimination of manual data entry, as well as faster data acquisition, which makes all results available immediately. Traceability is also ensured, as all values are automatically documented.
Data conversion and data collection from a variety of inspection systems form the basis of reliable quality control and monitoring. The i-Collector converts and collects data from many established brands of inspection equipment at the same time using a plug-in principle. This enables fast and straightforward recording of your quality-relevant information.
i-Collector translates existing measurement and inspection results into multiple formats and therefore fulfills individual requirements. All collected data is subsequently saved in a central database.
Security mode for measurement data collection
The i-Collector enables parallel conversion and data collection across different inspection data formats. It processes recognized data structures and transfers them directly into a database.
For cloud-based or on-premise data collection, the system also provides a shared folder mode as well as a network mode. By defining a TCP port, the i-Collector Client makes network mode particularly secure – an important advantage for environments that are sensitive to ransom-ware.
i-Record for intelligent interfaces and real-time visualisation
i-Record connects inline manual measuring equipment such as vernier calipers, height gauges and micrometers, and also supports manual data collection. During entry, the software immediately visualizes the recorded values together with related resources, including drawings and work instructions.
Furthermore, real-time alerts assist shop-floor personnel in reacting quickly to quality deviations.
Optimized display for on-site quality inspection
i-Record includes a viewer optimized for operators performing inspections locally. Users can archive and retrieve inspection-relevant documents such as PDF or JPG files containing drawings, work instructions and other references required for data collection and verification. This allows operators to review characteristics and detailed specifications directly during the inspection process.
The system also generates real-time notifications according to defined priorities, for example tolerance violations, control chart signals or warning limits. In addition, practical tools such as run charts and further visual supports are available to ensure efficient and precise quality inspections.
Interface with various devices
The solution offers interfaces to numerous devices, including vernier calipers and micrometers from different manufacturers, via USB, RS232 and additional connection types. A dedicated multi-channel transmitter/receiver guarantees smooth multi-channel data collection and transfer.
The concept reduces complexity by converting incoming values into keyboard signals, enabling straightforward data adoption without the need for extra configuration.
